YOU ARE:

  • Polished, professional and energetic
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives under minimal supervision while demonstrating a high degree of accuracy
  • Organized, with high attention to detail and accuracy when completing tasks

YOU HAVE:

    • 3+ years solid experience as a corporate legal assistant with relevant experience
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and nurture professional relationships
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and nurture professional relationships
    • A Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate or Diploma preferred
    • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) when dealing with lawyers, clients, staff and third parties
    • The ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives under minimal supervision
    • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills in Microsoft Office and legal software
    • Familiarity with equity and debt financing is required
    • SEDAR experience would be considered an asset
    • CORES I training would be considered an asset

YOU WOULD:

  • Provide legal administrative support to a variety of lawyers ensuring timely adherence to deadlines
  • Create and maintain legal files and corporate records database
  • Draft, prepare and revise corporate resolutions
  • Organize and assemble closing books
  • Thrive in an independent environment where you have regular communication with our client’s on behalf of the lawyers and excel as a client-facing assistant
  • Demonstrate good judgement and seek guidance as needed
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times and exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • Lead by example: with your work ethic, constructive feedback and positive attitude
